Another popular location for photography at the Nene Valley is the long straight through the site of the former station at Castor.
The Charter format enabled us to make the most of the stunning light in between the shadows cast by cloud in a mixed sky.

Here our train of Permanent Way vehicles is seen on the bridge over the River Nene, just to the east of Wansford station.

In April 2006, the EMRPS hosted a charter at the Nene Valley with privately owned 56057. This was organised very effectively (as ever) by Jason Cross, to whom many thanks.
Although it had dawned cloudy, we were fortunate in having a lovely Spring day, and here the train is seen at the start in the station at Wansford.
