Shortly behind the 60 was this, the 08.06 Doncaster - Felixstowe.
I tried here a slightly more head on view, but on consideration think I prefer where I stood for the 60!
The wind turbines are for the McCain's chip factory here.

Eventually in full dull this turned up, the 09.32 Mossend - DIRFT. Deeply annoying as the cloud where I was standing only passed for a short time to then clear!
Also failing to show were 4Z27 DRS Mossend to DIRFT, 6E10 Liverpool - Drax with a 60, and 6E26 Knowsley - Wilton bins.
I left shortly after 14.00 with the cutting starting to shadow up.

This was the 12.01 Warrington Arpley - DIRFT (Daventry) wagon move, which it would seem attracted quite some interest.

I haven't been out much at all in recent weeks as I don't really like heat!
Yesterday I did manage to catch this in a nice bit of sunshine, skirting the edge of Blackburn, Lancashire.
Complete with Rosebay Willowherb in profusion by the lineside, it is the 12.57 Carlisle to Chirk logs, running almost exactly to time. Unfortunately the same loco that was on this service when I saw it back in June!
Bus pics from earlier in the afternoon in Preston will be posted in due course.
