During our recent travels in Iceland we attempted to circumnavigate the massive glacier Myrdalsjokull in our 4WD, starting on F261 from the east and directly north of the smaller glacier Eyjafjnallajokull. After a number of river crossings we made it just past due north of the glacier before one particular crossing was just too wide and deep to risk it, so we had to turn back. This shot was taken long before we had to turn back, looking across to Myrdalsjokull, with Markarfljot meandering in the foreground. B&W Infrared-converted Canon EOS 5D Mark II, Canon TS-E 90mm f2.8, ISO 200, f8 at 1/400 second.
