Part of the ceiling of the Church of Santa Catarina, Lisbon.
A sign at the entrance to the Church states:
The Church of Santa Catarina, designed by Afonso Alvares, was commissioned in the 16th Century by King Joao II’s wife, Catarina de Austria, at the Alto de Santa Catarina, being its administration entrusted to the brotherhood of bookmakers. Destroyed in 1755, it was rebuilt and opened again to the cult in 1757. It was eventually destroyed by a fire in 1835, having then been moved to the extinct Covento do Santissimo Sacramento dos Religiosos Paulistas da Serra de Ossa, dating back to 1647, where it still is.
Make of that what you will.
