La sittelle torchepot est un oiseau trapu.
Elle a les parties supérieures bleu-gris, et une queue courte.

La Sittelle torchepot est essentiellement un oiseau forestier.

Elle est capable de se déplacer dans tous les sens le long des troncs et des branches, y compris la tête en bas, ce que les pics ne font jamais.

It is capable of moving in all directions along trunks and branches, including upside down, which woodpeckers never do.

An Otter relaxing on the loch bank on the Isle of Mull.

We were lucky to watch this fabulous creature for a couple of hours as it kept hunting, and then returning to the bank to feed, or sleep.

Meanwhile the rain kept on falling, so we were soaked and cold before we were able to leave her after she had casually swam away.
