Many have done this shot with far better results, but I'd never tried myself and it was long on my list to try and I don't hate the scene. This is the flip side view of this shot I shared earlier: flic.kr/p/2qj3cPH

The Cape Cod Central Railroad's five car dinner train is silhouetted on the causeway over Monk's Cove at about MP 2.9 on the MassDOT owned and Mass Coastal operated Falmouth Secondary...the former New Haven Railroad branch to Woods Hole.

Having traveled north from Hyannis the train ran across the bridge to Buzzards Bay and then reversed back over the bridge to Canal Jct. and down the branch as far as Pocasset River to afford the passengers views of the gorgeous beaches and inlets as they enjoy their dinner service. After pausing there for a bit they began a slow run back north to be in position to await the southbound MBTA/MassDOT CapeFLYER from Boston, so they can use the same bridge window to get back on the Cape Main to follow the Flyer back home to Hyannis.

Since they stop here for 10 min if you shoot the north unit on the sunny east side you have time to drive out and around to the west before they start moving again to set up for the unit on the south end of the train as it comes out over the causeway. Cutting a crisp profile here is ex CDOT FL9 2011 blt. Sept. 1960 as New Haven 2038.
