At 12,800 feet Engineer Pass is part of the scenic Alpine Loop. The original toll road was built for stagecoaches and freight. Boasting the highest peaks in Central North America, 58 of them are nicknamed 14ers for their 14,000 plus elevations.

This was a sunset canoe trip to see alligators. The place was loaded with them and we had to keep moving along this canal because of the close proximity to gators ...hence no pictures. Once we reached open water, at dusk, we shined flashlights along the shoreline and there were countless gleaming eyes. i don't think I'd be inclined to do this again.
