Time freight Q696 rounds Pole Cat Curve and prepares to cross the Toe River at Poplar, North Carolina on the misty morning of July 22, 2006. This bridge - and much of the Clinchfield in this area - was destroyed by catastrophic flooding from Hurricane Helene on September 27, 2024.

After dropping a cut of cars in the siding for the Great Lakes Central Railroad the crew of train L305-22 has gotten back on their train they tied down at Ann Pere and highball west for Lansing with a pair of EMD six motors in charge. The train is seen passing under the signal bridge in Howell, Michigan due to be replaced with new signals in the near future.
