Saint Martin is an island in the Caribbean, shared in two between the French and the Dutch. Its airport is famous all over the world because of this beautiful beach called Maho beach. The planes usually land on this side and since the threshold is facing the beach, you can see them coming in at a very low altitude. It's a real show. I had already been to Saint Martin in 2000. It was not so famous, but the spread of the internet made it become so. This led to the construction of a small shopping center, several bars and even a taxi park in the area.

This is the only photo I shot to a landing aircraft I did: Air France A330. Unfortunately during the cruises the time is short and after this landing we had to go back to the ship.

Saint Martin è un'isola dei Caraibi, divisa all'incirca a metà fra i francesi e gli olandesi. Il suo aeroporto è oggi famoso in tutto il mondo per via di questa bellissima spiaggia che si chiama Maho beach. Gli aerei atterrano in genere da questo lato e poiché la soglia pista è prospiciente la spiaggia, di fatto li vedi venirti addosso a quota molto bassa. E' un vero spettacolo. A Saint Martin c'ero già stato nel 2000. Allora non era così famosa, ma la diffusione di internet ha fatto si che lo diventasse. Questo ha portato alla costruzione di un piccolo centro commerciale, diversi bar e addirittura un posteggio taxi.

Questa è l'unica foto ad un aereo in arrivo che sono riuscito a fare: Air France A330. Purtroppo durante le crociere il tempo è poco e dopo questo atterraggio siamo dovuti tornare sulla nave.

2 years ago I attended a conference in which the building mode of this incredible tank was showed. This is a huge concrete cast run continuously, without interruption, and lasted 2 days. The peculiarity consists of this huge porthole at the bottom of the tank that shows the fish from the bottom up.

Honestly, I consider the ticket price of $ 30 too much. However, just to see this thing, it's worth it.

2 anni fa andai ad una conferenza nella quale fu illustrata la modalità costruttiva di questa incredibile vasca. Si tratta di un enorme getto di calcestruzzo eseguito in continuo, senza interruzione, e durato 2 giorni. La particolarità è costituita da questo enorme oblò sul fondo della vasca che mostra i pesci dal basso verso l'alto.

Onestamente, ritengo il prezzo di ingresso di 30 dollari eccessivo. Tuttavia, solo per vedere questa cosa, ne vale la pena.

San Juan of Puerto Rico is a beautiful town. The old part is colorful and was a pleasant surprise. Unfortunately, I was there only a few hours, but it is definitely worth going back.

San Juan di Portorico è una bellissima cittadina. La parte vecchia è coloratissima ed è stata una piacevole sorpresa. Purtroppo sono stato solo poche ore, ma vale senz'altro la pena ritornarci.
