Here are the first shots taken with a Topcon camera. The model is the Re300, the only one I have that works with 1.5V batteries. The exposure meter should be reliable.

I used a new FP4+ for 2 reasons. The first is to check camera and lens with a fresh film, the second is to test the Agfa Refinal developer, again with a fresh film.

I have to say that the camera did its job. However, the Refinal for FP4 at 160 ASA for 7 minutes definitely overdevelops: I lost all the highlights that burned out. Even the contrast seems too much to me. In short, the developer seems to work well but I will have to waste some time to tame it ...

Ho usato una FP4+ nuova per 2 ragioni. La prima è quella di testare la macchina con un prodotto fresco, la seconda è quella di testare il Refinal con un prodotto fresco.

Devo dire che la macchina non mi ha deluso. Contrariamente alle esperienze precendenti invece, il Refinal a 160 ASA per 7 minuti è decisamente sovrasviluppato: in pratica ho perso tutte le alte luci che si sono bruciate. Anche il contrasto mi pare eccessivo. Insomma, il rivelatore sembra funzionare bene ma dovrò perdere un pò di tempo per domarlo...

This is a nightshot with a very long bulb time: 5 minutes. I mean, not so long compared to what I did in the past but it came out nice.

Questo è uno scatto notturno, il migliore di una serie di 3. Quella notte c'era una magnifica luna piena, una tentazione troppo grande per me che sono amante dei notturni. E così, macchina su trepiede e... scatto flessibile premuto per 5 minuti. Piuttosto doloroso ma purtroppo non avevo quello con il fermo mi sono dovuto arrangiare. Il successivo è durato 10 minuti, ancor più doloroso...
