I found Donald and his duck at a goodwill store sitting on a shelf. I loved his sou'wester and mac, a style much more fitting to Cornwall than New Mexico.
He was just a couple of dollars and at last I've found an occupant for the little chair we recycled a couple of years ago.
I don't think I would've called him Donald but that's his name on the label.

My Grandmother was born in 1898. She would never drink tea unless it was served in a bone china cup with matching saucer. Woe betide me if I ever gave her a cup without a matching saucer :)
I can still hear that bone china clinking sound as I carefully carried it to her without spilling the tea in the saucer.
This is a set I picked up at a goodwill store to start my bone china cup and saucer collection.

I thought I'd try refurbishing old wooden furniture. Something "new" from something old. A neighbour has been supplied me with old, falling apart, not much good anymore stuff. He's given me 2 chairs and a bookcase. I thought I'd start with this child's chair first. The only thing that's been keeping it together seems to be the thick varnish on it!

Eye of newt, and toe of frog,
Wool of bat, and tongue of dog,
Adder's fork, and blind worm's sting,
Lizard's leg, and howlet's wing,--
For a charm of powerful trouble,
Like a hell-broth boil and bubble.
The witches in Macbeth never mentioned anything about dog farts or ladybug spots and I wasn't sure if they'd be good substitutes for tongue of dog and wool of bat so I didn't buy them.
