I love checking my backyard just after the rain. It often brings me inspiration for my still life compositions as there's more or less of new objects or points of interest.
That afternoon, I collected some leaves from vegetable garden that the heavy rain damaged. I dried them a little, and used for my project. I wanted to remember my tiny radish, and cabbage. It's actually a sad souvenir because they have never grown bigger.

That was a must-have picture in my still life collection since I own these both trees in my backyard. Now, their seeds are absolutely everywhere. Some of them have found a good ground and have already started growing; others still fly with the wind here and there. One day I felt like it was a massive attack seeing on the grass hundreds and hundreds of seeds of my Maple and Cottonwood trees.

I felt truly bad about myself for not photographing this lovely lonely lily among twenty-two roses of my birthday bouquet when it was fresh and splendid.

Sometimes I combine my models because I think they look beautiful together. This composition is a very good example of it. Also, my peperomia axiliaris started losing her leaves most likely because of overwatering. She is precious to me, and I wanted to remember every single piece of her, even if dead.

The three rose bushes in the backyard were a wonderful addition to my new house. I was awaiting the first bud to open, but when it happened, it felt too cruel just to pick the flower for making it eternal in a still life photograph. I simply didn't dare to deprive it of life. However, even though without entacing freshness and beauty, the faded first rose had so much meaning to me that she became my model of the week 12 of "Scènes de vie" project.
After all, if I've ever made a photograph, it was because of an emotional impact it had on me. I never wanted to please anybody.
