40143 is seen on the evening of 22nd July 1984 at Wakefield Kirkgate.
CFPS ran the Cambrian Coast Express from Manchester Victoria to Aberystwith via Leeds Sheffield and Birmingham behind 40009. The train was worked back to Manchester Piccadilly again by 40009 where 40143 took over for the run to west Yorkshire and back to Manchester Victoria.
