89001 seen at Doncaster late 1997 propelling a Leeds-London Kings Cross service.
89001 was the only member of the class constructed in 1986. Following a major failure she was withdrawn in 1992. In 1996 Great North Eastern Railway won the franchise to run trains on the east coast mainline. Due to loco shortages 89001 was returned to service. Finally she was withdrawn again in 2001.
