A tricky photo: Our last night at our Hudson Bay cabin we had not only the aurora but also a polar bear. So I tried to get a photo of the aurora with the polar bear. This is tricky since one needs a long exposure for the aurora (10 seconds or more) and a short exposure for the polar bear (less than a second) since she was moving around. I tried to have our Inuit guide "paint" the polar bear with his flashlight. Since our guide was also looking around for other polar bears (so we wouldn't be attacked), this was a bit tricky and one also needed the right amount of time for the polar bear to be painted. I got a few attempts at this. Attached is my best, not the greatest but I thought interesting attempt!

Couldn't resist adding one more photo from our night photographing the Northern Lights in Yellowknife, especially since we were shut out the rest of our time there.

Got off the plane and drove straight to Pontoon Lake around midnight since we could already see the aurora starting on our flight into the city!
