This is John J. Kloehr, the livery stable operator noted for his markmanship, who killed the wounded Bob Dalton with a shot from his rifle that struck the bandit leader full in the breast. Seconds later, when Grat Dalton, who had just fatally shot Marshall Connelly, although mortally wounded himself, turned to face his pursuers & tried to again use his Winchester, John Kloehr's rifle "spoke in unmistakable tones another time, & the oldest member of the band dropped with a bullet in his throat & a broken neck."
