Pack Your (travois) Taku Yu Sdohan!
Can you imagine packing all your family's belonging on a carrying device like this one! American Indian families did & within fifteen minutes time when necessary.
Many American Indian cultures, particularly on the plains, used the travois (a French word meaning "labor.") Taku yu' sdohan & can yu' sdohan are Dakota names for this sledge or drag. The travois is a platform or netting supported by two long poles, with the forward ends fastened to a dog or horse & the rear ends trailing on the ground.
