Turkeyfoot Wildlife Area, Public Hunting & Fishing License Required. North Country Trail.
North Turkey Foot Area is part of the Mary Jane Thurston State Park although Turkey Foot lies on the west side of the Maumee River. The Turkey Foot area lies in a D-shaped section of dense forest boardered by the river and Old State Rt 24. There is a 4 mile hiking / biking trail that run around the perimeter of North Turkey Foot and also a few shorter trail loops in the interior of the forest. Trails vary from wide groomed double track to ungroomed narrow singletrack. Terrain is flat and can be muddy in areas. There are some old barns and an old steel bridge that spans Turkey Foot Creek.
