Of the thirteen homes along this stretch of Lakeshore Drive, those of Louis Patton, Philip Morse, Phoebe Weatherton, R.C. Jackson, Joe & Ruth Hanley & Chris Paschen were lost. The Jackson home, a Chinese pagoda, had the distinction of being brought to St. Joseph (along with Maids of the Mist fountain located in Lake Bluff Park downtown) from the 1891 World's Fair. Five homes were moved to different locations. The Schillinger home is now located on the Southeast corner of Hilltop & Lakeshore Drive. The William Hanley home is now located on the Northeast corner of Shoreline Drive & Lakeshore Drive. The Anderson home was destroyed during the move when the trailer carrying it collapsed. Three of the homes are still standing in their original locations some precariously close to the edge. Also lost at this time was a brand new bulldozer, owned by Canon Construction Company.
