For Our Daily Challenge: A Photo Walk Shot
I went on a photo walk at a nearby lake on Tuesday, and just as night fell and I was packing up to head home, I spotted deer moving along the water's edge. By the time I got my camera back out of my bag, they had already passed by. Then I spotted this straggler, a young buck, bringing up the rear. He had spotted me too, of course, and was quite skittish, but was moving more slowly than the others.
It was getting quite dark, and I was changing lenses and fumbling with my camera settings. But while doing so, I was able to follow this guy along the lake for maybe 75 yards to a point where he was silhouetted by the water. As he emerged from behind a line of trees, I managed to get this one fairly clear shot of him. A moment later, he bounded away into the darkness.
