Coolest thing I've seen in awhile! The ice cycles on the chicken wire were melting from the inside out. Of course I edited out the sound of the chickens calling to me to let them Out! LOL

I am celebrating my 1,000 picture posted to Flickr today and decided to go with this little video. The story behind the fire: A friend and I were going to visit in the town of Niagara on the Lake in Canada which required crossing the boarder. Passports in hand, sunglasses off (we had already learned a lot the day before when we went to see the Canadian side of Niagara Falls), we got in the line to go through. Boarder guards don't have much of a sense of humor. At all.... When we were asked if we had anything to declare, of course we said no., but silly me added, the only thing in the car besides us is the wood. What wood? The wood on the back seat and in the trunk we replied innocently. You can't take wood into Canada. Well, what do you want me to do with it? Do you want the wood? ( never talk to a boarder guard.... let them do All the talking!!) Spend five minutes watching him write and then he gives me 2 papers that look like tickets and motions us to drive into Canada but only to a section on the side of the road where there are LOTS of policemen. Pretty sure at this point we are going to wind up in jail for attempting to smuggle contraband wood into the country..... They do some more writing and then tell us how to get across the highway and get out of the country. But... what are we to do with the wood because we Want to go to Niagara on the Lake. We planned to have lunch there! These guys do Not care what you want to do. And I wasn't really willing to part with my wood because I had just Bought it!! Sitting in line again waiting to get accepted Back into the US..... Not too far into the US there is a fast food joint and we stopped there to ask if anyone Wants some nice American campfire wood. I'm willing to sacrifice it since I really did want to go into Canada! The manager finally tells us we can store it by the dumpsters and come back to get it later. This satisfies the part of me that wasn't willing to just throw my ten dollar purchase away and back we go to Canada. Lunch turned into dinner but the laughter we got out of the whole situation was well worth it... I mean, two little old, nearly decrepit, white haired ladies attempting to haul this dangerous contraband into a foreign country.... well, it made our day to be sure! So glad they didn't lock us up for it! lol A day later and we burned the evidence of our indiscretion while watching the sun set on Lake Ontario. :)
