Anita and I went out riding and looking for new things to see and this was one that popped up. Almost literally. We had turned down this one lane gravel road and were just cruising along real slow. We went past this dilapidated old house and I did catch a couple of non-noteworthy shots of it. Turned out the road was a dead-end so we turned around and came back. We drove past this old wreck of a house again when I saw the bird. Had to back up and there it was just looking at us. After allowing me a couple of snaps it turned and hopped down inside. I suspect it was using the house for a nesting area. But given the run down condition of the house, the fact that it wasn't there the first time by, it was just a little chilling...... LOL It was a Great day out and about!

Taken on the same foggy day as his mate in the previous photo. I always have at least one pair here at Turtle Pond but last year there must have been at least 4, maybe 5 pair! I don't know what makes the difference, but I am always happy to see them. Getting this up early as tomorrow Anita, the grandbaby and I are heading out to Roanoke and church. Which should be interesting. We haven't been to a live service in a couple of months out of extreme caution on our parts, but oh how I've missed it! This is the babies second time. Last time she tried to out-preach the preacher so it will be interesting to see what goes on now that she is a few months older! LOL Have a blessed day everyone!
