Earl does Not like close up eye pictures and he is not cooperative at all! So every shot his eyes came out looking purely evil! Otherwise..... he's a pretty neat cat!

I planted a Japanese Maple in memory of my husband 5 years ago or so and it's still on the smallish side. Usually I photograph it looking head on (because of the beautiful red color of the leaves) but for this challenge of POV, I actually put the camera up inside the tree. The sun was going down (it was late in the day) when I took this shot so the light was interesting.

All the ingredients for a great mug of hot cocoa and toast. When we were little kids growing up in western NY state where there were lake effect snows and the wind blew gale force, we would play outside until fairly frozen and then coming in the house would be so nice and warm and my Mom always had a big pot of this cocoa steaming on the stove and piles of hot buttered toast. Perfect for warming up again! I generally have a cup per day or so.... sometime more if it's snowing! (but here in Virginia we count a half an inch as a snowstorm!!) :-)
