The building on the left is the pumphouse and it's located in Pumphouse Park, Richmond Virginia. Anita and I walked down this long trail alongside the old canal hoping to get a photo or two of a long arched railway bridge that crossed the James River. In the end, she was able to slide down this steep embankment, cross over a set of railroad tracks and go on. I however turned back! But while she was off on her adventure I was taking more detailed photos of the pumphouse and surrounding area. All part of the last marvelous day we spent in Richmond Virginia! :)

Gordonsville is a small town that Anita and I pass through going to Richmond. They put these lights up in early November and it makes the whole town seem like a fairy land! :)

Inside the Jefferson Hotel in Richmond Virginia. The word Opulent comes to mine. Definitely from a past era. In the main lobby there is a statue of Thomas Jefferson. Tobacco baron Lewis Ginter planned the development of the hotel. (which ties this visit to our later in the day visit at the Lewis Ginter botanical gardens. Patrons have included thirteen United States presidents, writers, and celebrities, including Henry James, Charles Lindbergh, The Rolling Stones, Dolly Parton, Elvis Presley, and Anthony Hopkins. We did Not notice the stay out unless you are staying there sign, we simply didn't see it! LOL I felt especially underdressed for the occasion though and for a mere $285. per night, you could enjoy this too! LOL

We were at Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens just before dark which gave some nice affects to the lights. Virginia has this thing about Love signs and most towns, cities etc will have at least one and they are all made up of different materials, mostly showing the nature of the city or area. Some people enjoy traveling the state in search of the signs. That is the conservatory in the background. We were blessed by the weather as it had been raining off and on all day.

I forgot how many lights they told us made up this Peacock at Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens in Richmond...thousands. That is the moon coming up behind this beautiful creature, but a poor capture of it I confess! I would like to wish everyone a very blessed and safe holiday season and may you be able to spend it with loved ones and friends in perfect harmony and peace. And wouldn't it be so lovely if that harmony and peace had a ripple affect that spanned across countries and nations? :)
