Riding around exploring downtown Roanoke we saw the Taubman Museum of Art, formerly the Art Museum of Western Virginia which is an extremely modern, angular building, and this man statue was situated near the top, approximately two or three stories high. Fabulous find by Anita as we sat at the light and lighting fast reflexes on my part as the stop light turned green and we were off! LOL

After church on Sabbath we visited the Mill Mountain Zoo. This is not too far down a lovely walking path from the Star of Roanoke. It is a very small little zoo but the animals all looked happy and well cared for. There were two eagles in a large apiary and shelter where they could go in during inclement weather if they desired. I know it's not considered any great deal to capture an animal, either birds at feeders or animals in cages. Ha.... try getting a good shot without the cage itself ruining the shot! LOL Most Eagles that I see in the wild are too far away for photos so I was happy to see this one up close and personal like. Have a wonderful day everyone! :)

These beads were hanging in the pen of a large bird in the Roanoke Zoo. I probably never would have noticed except I saw Anita snapping photos of them. Another reason we are a good photography team... we inspire each other to look past what we would normally see. I was all about the bird and would have missed this shot completely. The best fun I've ever had, having a photography buddy! :)
