I like this kind of composition better than my previous photo. I uploaded this on instagram but so far a lot of my instagram photos don't look sharp for some reason.

A Marsh Deer (Blastocerus dichotomus) in Parque Nacional Iberá, Corrientes Provence, Argentina.

I'm transitioning back into a set of images from Argentina. Here's a deer that's quite different from the whitetails I've been posting as of late. Marsh deer are one of the largest land mammals of South America. Their range has decreased significantly in the last century, and they now exist in scattered isolated populations. Fortunately, Iberá remains a stronghold for them and we saw several during our visit. This one was deep in the marsh, foraging on a mat of floating vegetation. A major cold front was blowing in at the time, and he appears to be testing the air for some scent or pheromone.

I spotted this Ruby-crowned kinglet zipping around near the entrance to the South Padre Island Birding Center. I only noticed the caterpiller in its beak with processing. The sequence seems to show it was either hitting it on the branch or just shaking it about before the swallow.
