I stumbled upon this site while exploring Samarkand on a Silk Road adventure journey, on my b-day in 1996. The chap was blind, and Uzbek currency has different paper sizes for different denominations. One of my 'lucky photo chance encounters'. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gur-e-Amir
