Upper Yosemite Falls and the Merced River
The first time we've been in Yosemite in late May with stringky flowing waterfalls and verdant spring greens. It's a very different experience from autumn or winter, and we were very fortunate that it was neither crowded nor hot. Some of the Valley highlights were closed due to construction and rock slides.

Very early in the morning, and on my first day in the Annapurna conservation area, there was this fantastic view of the massive and I guess the most prominent peak here is the Nilgiri.
The picture was taken from Jomsom. I had taken the bus to here from Pokhara, and next two weeks I would walk several parts of the Annapurna trekking.
During this period I had a few very clear early mornings, while later clouds and haze started to obscure the mountains. But on this day I felt how it is to be in the Himalayas with its overwhelming beauty. More to follow.
