This large building was formerly a hotel called the Franklins Guildhall Hotel but ceased to be in the 50s...photos from the period show that this looks exactly the same today as it did in those days...unfortunately you can't get a drink anymore...Guildhall road Northampton on March 21 2012

The former Pomfret Arms in Cotton End Northampton which is just a door or two away from the Railway Tavern.I always preferred this pub of the two and a few years ago it was reopened as a bar called "The End" which venture was short lived....Mar 21 2014.

The former Cattlemarket Tavern now in use as a Japanese eatery complete with the grotesque chimneys characteristic of such establishments..the piece of masonry covered with vegetation leaned out at a dangerous angle and i note that its now been removed which is just as well!...this ceased to be a pub during the 1960s...Cattlemarket Road/Navigation Row corner Northampton....May 30 2012.

It looks as though the old Pomfret Arms in Cotton End Northampton is set to reopen as the name has been nicely sign written in the last few days..in spite of its modest appearance used to be one of the best pubs in the area...May 3 2014.
