10800 was a North British Ltd prototype, a sort of cross between a shunter and main line loco and as such was not ideal for either duty. It was built in 1950 and pottered around mostly in the Rugby area until 1959 when it was withdrawn and passed to Brush at Loughborough for development of traction equipment. It actually existed until 1976.
