Today I thought I would feature Starbucks and my love of coffee. I would not say that Starbucks nor their products really contributed in any way to the weight that I have and must now learn. That is not the reason for my feature. I love coffee, and have for many years now. When I was a smoker, coffee and cigarettes were never far from my hand, and many hours were spent with a three-way connection between us.

When I quit smoking I thought I’d have to give up coffee, and I did for a couple weeks. I had been drinking 12-18 cups per day, running through 1 to 1 ½ pots of coffee every day. Before starting on this weight loss journey I started slowing off my coffee, and now I am down to 2-3 cups of coffee per day. It’s a good sign that I don’t feel more tired. For as I am less filled with coffee, my energy levels are coming up to compensate!

The holiday season is one of the hardest times of the year. But for me the holiday Season begins in September when Starbucks brings out their Pumpkin Spice Latte… they’re amazing. They always remind me of the Fall, and it’s one of my favorite seasons of the year. Sure it’s still in the high 90’s or even 100’s in September, but I love the feeling of energy in the air!!

I am determined to not be undermined by the holiday season this year. But I am in no way skipping the Pumpkin Spice Lattes! In fact it might not be so bad to enjoy a piece of Pumpkin Bread and a Pumpkin Spice Latte instead of eggnog, ice cream, or baking which is much worse (and usually comes in much larger quantities!!).
