I have had my sister on my mind a lot lately. I have kept on the call history on my phose, showing the last time that she called me- the evening of my Father's Birthday to talk about how peaceful the time was- no drama, just happiness. There always seemed to be some kind of drama at the family get togethers, but strangely not this time.
I called her on the 31st; she had an end of year party on the 1st of June so I didn't call her... and she was gone the next morning.

My wife's grandmother had a stroke today. She is in critical care so the next 48 hours are the critical period. We just came back from Canada, and last minute flights are not cheap... so she may be heading back to the Great White North sooner than expected...

I told her once that I wanted her to be my grandmother as I had lost mine. She really surprised the family and embraced me- I can't even claim it was my Texas accent that won her over because I don't really have one.
