I love working with my hands, whether in my studio or in my workshop. I have quite a few different building projects for this year, so hopefully it is going to be a very fun year in this workshop.
I bought a new dust and eye goggle set for my workshop- it’s really a mask for dirt bike racing but it just so happens to work perfectly in the workshop to keep wood bits out of my eyes and out of my throat.

I still remember the day I walked into a Sears store and bought this Craftsman brand of drill bits. My father taught me the value of “spending good money on a good tool that will last you a good long time.”
Twenty plus years later these still cut through wood and steel like butter!

I got this beautiful Stanley punch and chisel set for my workshop- I love the quality of these tools and they will surly last a lifetime. I thought it was fitting that Stanley just bought the Craftsman product line from Sears, and this Stanley set was resting on my Craftsman table saw…

This cabinet that I am building for my journal is going to have a lot of custom word scripting on the casing, both inside and out. To do that, it’s going to take a lot of routing- a LOT of routing. I imagine that this will be the biggest time built into the project, but in the end I believe it will be worth the investment.
Because I am using multiple fonts and the texts will vary in length, I am going to need a few different router bits- this one will be for some fine scroll detail!

I still remember sitting at my kitchen table as a young boy, and my father showing me how to solder wires with solder and a soldering iron. I still I have such a fond memory of the experience. A sweet sentimental feeling comes back to me any time I smell the tiny wiff of smoke from the melting of solder onto any type of wire!
