The dawn of a new year is here, and a new beginning with it. It brings a new year, new month, and a new decade. I struggled for a time at the end of 2019 with not achieving everything I wanted to achieve, but it’s far more productive to start a new year with a new pace and a new outlook on life.

I am long overdue to have my eyes checked and get an updated prescription. I thought my Rx had changed quite a bit, but truth be told it hadn’t changed too much. I’m looking forward to some new glasses and most of all some safety glasses with prescription lenses for time out in my workshop.

Among many things, the New Year has brought rains, high winds, and flooding through the Tennessee area. It is days like this where I am glad that I invested in a really good treadmill- also on days like this I just want to curl up on the couch, light a fire, and drink some boozed coffee while binge watching something on the television (a very rare event for me!).

I went to pick up some more oak plywood for one of my projects, and literally 5 seconds after I got it in the workshop, snow and sleet started pouring down. Since I couldn't work in the workshop, I decided to make some chili and chill.

I have a lot of people ask about my creative journaling process. It always begins with inspiration, in this case this was a shot from one of my great Flickr friends. I always trace the right and left side margins with a pencil to be erased once I am editing the completed pade. I never write in the same pattern, and in this case, I chose a rather circular spiral path.
