Here is the attaction.
Pink Salmon by the hundreds of thousands turn the blonde sandy bottom of Anan Creek black with their backs.
Pink Salmon weigh in the range of 6 lbs each, they spend 2 years in the waters near their birth, then as smolts they head to sea where they spend another 2 years collecting the bounty of the sea to return to the exact place of their birth to lay and fertilize their eggs. They also concentrate the calories of the ocean and add it to the ecosystem of Anan Creek to fuel the bears, eagles, raven and harbor seals as well as the next generation of pink salmon.

This is my favorite of my otter pictures, taken near Seward Alaska in April of 2002, it has been my screen saver at work ever since.

Taken near Valdez. This was quite a yawn, I have 7 or 8 shots of it, without the camera being set to take a bunch of shots.
We obviously woke him up from some pretty deep sleep.

This has to be the blondest sea otter I've ever seen. Taken from the Ferry in Cordova's Ferry terminal.
If you look close, you will note she is holding a clam and the rock she's been beating it with.
