A small aurora glowing in the sky tonite. While it isn't all that spectacular, it is probably the last chance as the days are getting longer and the moon is getting fuller, so by the time the moon is away and we have another aurora it will be light all night.

Taken last spring. The folds in the ribbon on the right were pulsating and move up kind of like a sine wave. This year just hasn't had as many aurora's to inspire me to go out on a cold spring nite.

As I was driving home I noticed a bright aurora with lots of color. By the time I got home, got the camera hooked up to take aurora photos it had settled down to this.

I like this shot thru the birch tree. You can also see the open star cluster Pleiades to the left and the constellation Cassiopeia to the right.
