Looking west from the tour boat. The town of Valdez is on the left shoreline and the Valdez Glacier can be seen in the valley to the left. Thompson pass is to the right. The water here is around 1000 feet or 300 meters deep.

Looking up Mineral Creek Valley from Port of Valdez. This valley is just west of Valdez and contains the area closest to Valdez that is used for winter sports and summer hiking.

A high hanging glaicer overlooks fishing boats chasing silver salmon in Port of Valdez, a fjiord about 3 miles wide by 10 miles long. It leads to Valdez Narrows and then Valdez Arm which opens into Prince William Sound.
