An entry into the 2007 large block competition of the Ice Alaska world championship ice carving contest. There are 20 something entrys in the large block, like this one sometimes they can get quite tall (I'd guess this one is over 40 feet high). A small block entry. This one proves we do have lions in Alaska!

I finally went out to photograph this years ice art at night under the lights. I'm not good enough to run the camera with gloves, and I store the camera in my coat to keep it warm. So after 3 hours in the -15 temps with my coat open and without gloves, I did a quick look at some favorites, this is one. I'll do a better job once I complete my inventory of important parts to make sure nothing important froze off and was left at the ice park.
