I'm just back from a trip around Portugal. I enjoyed my stay and found Portugal one of my favorite European vacations.

This is one of the rooms in the Stock Exchange building and reflects the Moorish influence of Portugal. The interesting fact was the concern that no man could create perfection so builders intentionally made imperfections, that is why the door on the right is not centered.

This is the court room of the Stock Exchange that was described as more of a chamber of commerce. The court room was where various business disputes were resolved.

These are the boats that used to transport the wine from the upper reaches of the Duoro River where the grapes are grown down to the wineries, or what every you call the place of Port production. These are no longer used except for races that they have each year.

This photo is looking up river and includes a double decked bridge built in the 1860's.
