Royal Scot approaching the Sharnbrook - Souldrop Road bridge as it headed the York Yuletide Express towards Sharnbrook Summit on Dec 16, 2017.
Taken from the public footpath line crossing between Souldrop and Colworth - just in case you thought I was trespassing on railway land given all the issues caused by trespassers when Flying Scotsman returned to the mainline!

On my way to view Royal Scot, I couldn't resist taking this sunlit frosty scene before climbing over the stile and following the path down to the railway line (behind the trees, top right).
HFF!

This has lingered in my 'Flickr possibles' folder since it was taken in Dec 2016, I've toyed with uploading it a number of times but never did so. It's high time it either saw the light of day or be rejected re Flickr once and for all, so I went for the former (obviously!).
The road up to Sywell Grange - a 19th century period farmhouse which you can hire as a wedding venue or rent cottages according to their website. I've never been up there but I drive past it on my "avoid all conurbations" route to & from the M1/Coventry.

An assortment of bits of fence alongside the Midland Mainline at Radwell, including one trying to blend in with its surroundings!

I think of viaducts either as towering structures spanning valleys in open countryside such as those on the Settle-Carlisle railway line, or as squat ones in the older and less attractive parts of a big city such as London. These pair carrying the Midland Mainline over the swollen River Ouse at Radwell are a bit of a mixture , being squat city-types in the open countryside of North Bedfordshire. So I've used Silver Efex to give them a bit more of a gritty city look.
Though the fence at the far end looks quite close, it is about 70-80 yards away
