The 5th hole at Alnwick Castle Golf Club is a monstrous 549 yards long (502 metres) from the top tee (on the R of shot), and still ca. 500 yards from the lower tee. On the plus side it is initially steeply downhill from the tees!
The overnight snow and frost (mostly gone by lunchtime) meant that the course was once again closed to golfers, but wide open to dog walkers :)

I would love to be able to say that this was this morning's sunrise, however it was raining rather than sunny. so here's
Christmas Eve's sunset instead - and with a fence.
