The wind turbines look as if they are not far beyond the River Aln (in the valley just behind the houses).
But don't be fooled - they are actually about 8 miles (13 km) away as the crow flies, though they aren't normally this visible!

Woke up last Monday to 2-3ins of unexpected snow, so the morning dog walk was through a winter wonderland, much of which was untrodden. Both dog and I loved it.

Warm light from the late afternoon sun - but offset by a freezing wind. Still great to be on Alnmouth beach despite there not being much of it left at high tide.
The concrete blocks are World War 2 anti-tank defences which have stood the test of time remarkably well.
