Norfolk Southern Train 275 is getting back underway at CP SHIP as steady snow falls. The interlocking and signals are just out of sight, where the train disappears into the trees, but I like this spot with the old Reading code lines still in place. There's only a handful of old poles still to be found between here and Harrisburg.

The Lurgan Running Track and siding in the foreground give the illusion that the old Reading PH&P double-track main is still in place, ending a mile west of here where it met the Western Maryland Railway at RG (Lurgan) Tower. The train is on what was the Reading connector to Pennsylvania Railroad's Cumberland Valley Branch. All three railroads used each other's railroad a lot over the last 150+ years, and it continues today with CSX and Norfolk Southern.

NYSW GP40 number 3040 powers plow No.93 down the Utica Branch. No. 93, built by O.F. Jordan in Dec 1953 was acquired by the NYS&W from the US Air Force (Griffiss AFB in nearby Rome NY) in 1992.

Maryland and Delaware RS3M 1203 was working the Purdue plant somewhere near Milepost 17 in Hurlong.

The 1203 was living on borrowed time as Delmarva Central has taken over. Scuttlebutt has it that any day the 1203 will be retired and replaced by newer Delmarva Central power.
