On Purim, we dress up in costumes, read the whole story of Queen Esther (Megillat Esther) which describes a failed attempt to kill the Jews of Babylon. We drink until we cannot tell the difference between Haman and Mordechai, and exchange gifts as ordained by Queen Esther, to show our love for one another.
