We're Here/Seeds
These raw seeds have dried for a few days. I am trying to decide whether I should toast them, eat them raw, or sprout them on paper towels. They do sprout easily, and I love to plant some of the sprouts. But it's really too early to plant them outdoors since Tucson typically has some frosts, or even some hard freezes, in January and February.
I think the answer is to buy some more acorn squash to cook and defer any seed decision until March or April.
I just remembered I must not do that. Harvesting seeds to plant from fruit and vegetables at the markets may not be a good idea. They may be GMO varieties that are designed to not bear a second crop. Last year, the seeds I threw on and near the compost pile grew and made gorgeous flowers but bore little fruit. This year I think I will buy non-GMO seed from a nursery.

Blue Haifa rosemary flowers in a cobalt blue glass. Perhaps the stems will root. I have done it before. In the meantime, it is a beautiful sight.
