The Stagecoach (1966) by Norman Rockwell, Oil Paint on panel, Denver Art Museum, Denver, Colorado.
In the 1950s, when the Saturday Evening Post was the nation's most popular general interest magazine, its weekly covers were dominated by Rockwell's illustrations. The visibility elevated Rockwell to superstar status. This painting was Rockwell's illustration advertising the 1966 remake of the classic western film Stagecoach. (Denver Art Museum)
