On June 12, 2009, the Texas Governor's Committee on People with Disabilities conducted the 26th Annual Barbara Jordan Media Awards governor.state.tx.us/disabilities/awards /barbara_jordan_m..., given to media professionals who portray Texans with disabilities in a positive, progressive way. These professionals use people first language and exhibit high quality reporting for and about Texans with disabilities. This year we held the awards program in collaboration with the Arlington Mayor's Committee on People with Disabilities in the new (still under construction) Cowboy Stadium stadium.dallascowboys.com/.
