Launched by Plaxton in 2005, the Primo was based on the Enterprise Bus Plasma. It was a result of close co-operation between Enterprise Bus Ltd, the chassis manufacturer, and Plaxton. Much of the design of the Primo was put into the styling of the larger Plaxton Centro. In 2014, the Primo production was phased out by parent company Alexander Dennis in favour of it's own Enviro200. As well as available on ADLs own chassis, the Enviro 200 is available for bodying other manufacturers chassis and is by far a better bus. Mind you, that wasn't hard, as the Plasma was a truly dreadful bus with many falling to bits after only a very short service life. Some being patched up with Gaffa Tape with some operators! New to Holmeswood in 04/2009, this Primo is seen here leaving Preston Bus Station on a wet 15/10/2010. Ten years ago on the day of posting the photo to 'flikr'! It is heading for Croston on Lancashire County Council Tendered Service 112. © Peter Steel 2010.
