Seen here on display in London United's Fulwell garage at their 'Busfest 94' event on 24/07/1994 are these two fine examples of London Transport buses. On the right, facing the camera, is, preserved London Transport RTW185, KLB915, a smart longtime preserved Leyland bodied Leyland Titan 6RT. Although not as numerous as the standard RT types, these were built to the then maximum 8ft. width as against the 7ft. 6" width of the RT. Nearest the camera is BTS, Borehamwood, RM104, LDS280A, a Park Royal bodied AEC/PRV Routemaster R2RH. This smart RM was new to London Transport(RM104), VLT104, in 11/1959. It arrived at BTS in 03/1994 by way of Clydeside Scottish, Western Scottish and Southend Transport. After BTS, next stop was Reading Mainline, a collector of the type, then it was off to Argentina in by 08/1998. Some tour! I'm unsure if this open day was in connection with an anniversary of any sort.
The camera being a Praktica MTL3 with the film being Kodachrome Colourslide.
I would request, as with all my photos, that they are not copied or downloaded in any way, shape or form. © Peter Steel 1994.
