Built in 1957, this smart Class 104 is seen here departing from Summerseat, for Rawtenstall, at the ELR DMU weekend on 13/11/2022. Leading, at the far end, is Class 104/2 M50455 Motor Brake Second while trailing is Class 104/1 M50517 Motor Composite Second with Lavatory. Both cars are powered by two B.U.T. (Leyland) six cylinder units. M50517 was based at Newton Heath while M50455 was based at Buxton. It was working the 10:30 Hopwood - Heywood Station Loop - Heywood - Bury Bolton Street - Burrs Country Park - Summerseat - Ramsbottom - Irwell Vale - Rawtenstall. With it being Remembrance Sunday #Lestweforget, this service paused at Bury Bolton Street, where a short service took place at the 11th, hour. © Peter Steel 2022.
